The Lost Continent

The Lost Continent - Bill Bryson While funny, his elitist attitude does begin to grate. He abandoned America but felt the need to come back here and "learn" about this nation. A lot of the time his commentary is belittling, i.e. the people are stupid and yokels, the food is terrible, the scenery is bad. At times he seems smitten. This is the second book I have fully read by Bryson and I am keeping an open mind as the first book I read I really enjoyed.

In looking at reviews it appears many people are put off by this book. I wasn't really moved any direction. His opinion is his opinion and he is welcome to it. I found the writing and style easy to follow and interesting to see others opinions in what we take for granted everyday.
